Kid Friendly Dentist

Your Kid Friendly Dentist

Drs. Hanneman, Dustrude and Galow know a kid friendly dentist is important to you!

At Hanneman Dustrude Dental, we encourage parents to bring children to theGKAS dentist shortly after age 1 for a screening. Dietary and hygiene counseling is provided to the parents at this visit. As pediatric-focused dentists, we are able to quickly screen the child’s oral health to try and prevent little things from becoming big things.

We participate in the Wisconsin Dental Association program called Dental Home. This program’s goal is to examine all children by age 1 (or six months after the eruption of the first tooth) and educate about why baby teeth matter and how to care for them! According to the Centers for Disease and Prevention, children seen by age 1 have significantly less dental disease throughout childhood than their peers who are first seen later in life.

Happy Visits at Hanneman Dustrude Dental

“Happy Visits” are given to children in the three year old range. They are introduced to “Mr Thirsty” the little suction apparatus as well as the “dental squirt gun”. Children are given a ride in the chair and allowed to watch TV from one of our ceiling mounted flat screens.

We are proud to be involved with Dental Home and provide Happy Visits. We try to introduce them slowly into the world of dentistry whenever possible!

National Children’s Dental Health Month

We participate in the Give Kids A Smile® program, in partnership with TriCounty Community Dental Clinic (TCCDC).

Give Kids A Smile® children’s dental access program is held during National Children’s Dental Health Month (February) in Wisconsin that helps address ongoing challenges that disadvantaged and children face in accessing dental care. While both Drs. Hanneman and Dustrude donate time to the clinic, the wait time for appointments can get long. That’s why in recognition for Give Kids A Smile®, we also see kids in our office to lighten the load at TCCDC.
